Does EDUBase include a school website or a custom domain?
EDUBase Cloud is a cloud-hosted school management platform, not a website builder. Its published features do not include a public school website or a portal on the school's own domain.
At onboarding, the EDUBase team shares the login URL, the institute code and admin credentials with a how-to video. Staff sign in with the school's code, a username and a password. Parents do not use the web address at all. They log in to the EDUBase Parents App with a one-time code sent to their registered mobile.
If your school needs its own web address for the portal, treat it as a custom requirement. The EDUBase team adds new features and options to meet an institution's requirements, so the request can be discussed and scoped with them.
How does our existing school website work alongside EDUBase?
Most schools keep their public website for admissions information, news and contact details, and use EDUBase for the work behind it. The two are separate, which is usually simpler and safer. Your web designer can add links to EDUBase without any change on EDUBase's side.
- Add a 'Staff portal' link on your website that points to the login URL you received at onboarding.
- Copy the Parents App store links from EDUBase App Links in the web portal and place them on your website or in a message to families.
- Keep the login itself on the EDUBase portal, which runs over HTTPS, rather than embedding it inside another site.
What can our school already brand in EDUBase?
Even without a custom domain, much of what parents and staff see carries your school's identity.
- Print templates and branding: your logo, colour themes and footer signatures on reports, cards and result cards.
- Fee vouchers: bank account details, header and footer notes, and vertical or horizontal layouts under challan settings and branding.
- Certificates, letters, and student and employee QR ID cards in your school's design.
- SMS templates in your own wording, and an optional branded/masking SMS gateway.

What should an owner check before pointing a domain at any school system?
Whichever vendor you use, connecting your domain to a hosted system is a security decision as much as a branding one. These are general points worth settling in writing.
- Who controls your domain's DNS account, and who is allowed to change its records.
- Who issues and renews the HTTPS certificate for the address, so the site never shows a security warning.
- What happens to the address if you change provider or the domain registration lapses.
- That the public website and the system holding student, fee and staff records stay separate, so a problem on one does not expose the other.
